   Eish im running out of banks to migrate to. I’ve recently switched from Nedbank (*spit*gaatoo*spit*) to FNB. despite the DNA sample they required for FICA verification, i thought the migration went rathersmoothly. then last week, while making an online payment, an sms notification alerts me to the fact that the transaction was doubled. so i dial the support no as indicated on the site – and reach a nice enough chap who tells me that i have reached the “enquiries dept” and he’d need to trnsfer me to the online banking dept, but gives me a number just in case i get lost in tranfer. i never thought too much of it, after all this is first line of support, so their only function is probably just to get you in touch with the proper dept. so away i go, and i explain my situation to someone else, who, believe it or not tells me that i have reached the wrong dept, they will trnsfer me. after the 3rd transfer, i speak to yet another clueless consultant, and he tells me i have to dial #### number to get through to the correct dept. “thats the number i dialed”. “oh, well, this is not the correct dept” “which dept should i contact?” “#$#% dept” “well thats the dept that trnsferred me to you”. “-” silence. the cabbage did not know what to say. i then tell her to have someone from the correct dept call me and ploep i find myself on the line with guess who? the first guy i spoke to!! u can only imagine his surprise/shock/horror at hearing me again – he probably thought the transfer would never come back to hime. these ppl know that all the calls r recorded and they just dont give a damn! so saturday, a few days after initial contact, the matter is not resolved and i contact the fraud dept. the lady wants to trnsfer me to online banking. “dont even think of doing that. if u so much as put me on hold, u r going to be sorry. u get your manager and i dont want to hear music playing, marianne swanepoel” i hear some commotion and i find myself speaking to a very confident manager, who insists that i need to speak to online banking. “why?” “well we only deal with unauthorized transactions” “i never authorized this transaction” “-” “well, then its a technical error on the website and u need to speak to our technical helpdesk” “ok, assuming an error occurred on the website can u explain to me how it was authorized without a pin code?” “er, i actually dont know how that happened” “so what are u doing in that department. do you even know what you’re doing there? what exactly does your job entail?” after a few more insults, and harsh words, she springs into action. wtf must u get rude before someone does what they get paid to do?! unbelievable!

   On Saturday, I wnt to an Absa Branch to get my statement. And boy oh boy did i realise that most of my income goes to Absa through service fees. Absa really sucks!!! Can anyone refer me to another bank please, a cheaper option that is!!!

   Celia there is no cheaper option. All banks in SA blow! They all f*cking screw you over with service fees. Everytime you withdraw money they take a little bit for them. Nedbank’s service fees are slightly cheaper IF you withdraw money from PnP.

   Nedbank is even worse! Stay with ABSA…i promise you, you won’t regret that extra 15 minutes.

   I have 3 months of agony with Nedbank and will probably be blacklisted as well…because of some idiot who can’t close an account properly and fraudulent transactions are allowed and…and…and…
